Job description: 

Job Summary 

The primary duty of a septic pump truck operator is to empty the sewage in residential septic systems, commercial plants/tanks, as well as grease in a grease interceptor at grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Position requires a Class B license with Tanker Endorsement. We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various working and driving environments and weather conditions. This role requires a strong commitment to safety as well as excellent navigation skills. 


Responsibilities 

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. (all fluids, tires, etc.) 
  • Confirm all supplies and tools are in good condition and are on the truck. 
  • Operate a 3500-gallon tanker truck. 
  • Communicate with customers before and after job completion with a friendly attitude. 
  • Complete septic cleaning jobs, which include dragging hoses, digging tanks open if needed, handling vacuum hoses, and vacuum truck operation. 
  • Communicate with dispatch if follow-up work is needed. 
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes or delays. 
  • Navigate routes using GPS systems to ensure timely travel between jobs. 
  • Ensure the appearance of the truck, inside and out, is professional at all times. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance as instructed. 
  • Keep the truck clean and organized. 
  • Assist with the training of new drivers as needed. 
  • Comply with rules and regulations at disposal locations. Septic is to be emptied daily, before shift end, at the assigned location. 


Qualifications 

  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL-B) with a clean driving record. 
  • Has a positive attitude, is a team player, and is willing to help others. 
  • Has a flexible schedule. 
  • Is organized and very detail-oriented. 
  • Experience driving manual transmission vehicles is preferred. 
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
